Below is a list of the funds that support programs and community services that the Friends of the Fairfax Juvenile Court, Inc. administers. Click on theFund Title below and make a tax-deductible charitable contributions.
The General Fund
This fund is used to support the overall mission of the Friends of the Court that does not specifically fall under the purpose of the other funds as listed below.
The Benefit At-Risk Youth Fund
This is a scholarship fund for at-risk youth entering college. The annual golf tournament provides the bulk of the funds used for the scholarships.
The Noon Day Optimist Club Fund
This fund is used to purchase rewards, trophies, medals and savings bonds for students.
The Volunteer Learning Program Fund
This fund is used to purchase items for the classroom, recognize tutors and purchase training supplies. It is also used to purchase food and flowers for workshops and receptions.
The Give Me Wings Fund
This fund is used to purchase computer software for the Juvenile Detention Center and has expanded to include other Fairfax County Juvenile Court residential placement for youth involved with the court.
The Court Services - Youth & Family Fund
This fund is used to specifically help youth on probation for various needs as determined by the probation staff.
The Dwight Smith Memorial Educational Fund
This fund was established to continue Dwight Smith’s tireless efforts to be a bright spot in the life of a youth within the jurisdiction of the Probation Office. Funds donated on behalf of Dwight Smith will go to the Benefit At-Risk Youth Fund.
